Certificates, Badges and CEUs

All students completing a course will either receive a certificate, badge or CEUs based upon the course and learning objectives. Badges or certificates will be listed on each individual course page. Upon completion, certificates may be displayed on your social media profile and used for evidence of learning.

  • Certificates: Certificates of Attendance will be issued for students participating in programs that do not have assessment evidence (e.g. lecture program, speaker, etc.)
  • Badges (non-credit): Issued to students who complete a set of learning objectives or an assessment (quiz, test, reflections paper, final exam, etc.). Each course posts a syllabus and lists the learning objectives for earning a badge.
  • Continuing Education Units (CEUs): Specific professions require that practitioners earn a specific number of CEUs per year to ensure that they are up-to-date with current practices in their field. Proof of credits earned is necessary in order to renew a license or certification. The annual number of CEUs required varies by state and profession.
  • Continuing Education may issue CEU certificates reflecting hours based upon the standards. One CEU is equal to ten hours of participation in a program or class. (e.g. 10 hours = 1.0 CEU; 3 hour class – .3 CEU)
